# Archive 0001 methodology

## What this prototype is

Archive 0001 is a source-conscious historical interface about the August 9, 1915 town-naming vote and the systems that made Anchorage operationally durable.

It separates four layers in both data and presentation:

1. **Verified** — a record or arithmetic result that can be checked directly.
2. **Reconstruction** — a modern representation built from a disclosed basis.
3. **Interpretation** — an argument assembled from sourced facts with uncertainty retained.
4. **Fiction** — a disclosed counterfactual that supports no historical claim.

## Image policy

The images imported from `alaska-city-image-assets-v01.zip` are generated production assets. The package manifest is retained in JSON and CSV form. No generated historical scene is called an archival photograph.

The Dena’ina fish-camp image is used in this prototype with an always-visible reconstruction label. Paid cultural review remains requested before a final institutional or promoted release.

## Corrections

A correction should identify the claim ID, proposed replacement language, evidence, and effect on linked records. Update the structured data and tests in the same change.
